circa 1876, with round 2 1/2in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'HOPKINS & ALLEN MFG CO., X.L. No.4 PAT MAR 28 1871, APRIL 27. 1875', solid frame with rounded action body, fluted cylinder, colour hardened hammer and spur-trigger, smooth rosewood birdshead grips, the whole retaining much original nickel-plated finish
